Retake control of your intimacy.

There are many options to help you achieve your sexual intimacy goals.

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is common; more than half of men over 40 suffer from some degree of ED.

What causes ED?

There are many reasons men have difficulty with erections including:

  • Diabetes

  • Heart Disease

  • Decreased blood flow to the penis from such causes as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, smoking and lack of exercise

  • Medications

  • Penile nerve problems

  • Pelvic surgeries such as removal of the prostate

  • Hormonal problems such as low testosterone

  • Depression and anxiety

To better understand the link between your symptoms and ED, take the Sexual Health Inventory Management (SHIM) Survey and get your ED score.

Treatment options.

ED is one of the most treatable problems men face today and is treatable at any age. There are a wide variety of therapies to help you achieve your goals from medications and non-invasive devices to durable surgical options.

Medical Therapies

Most men start with pills such as Viagra™ (sildenafil) or Cialis™ (tadalafil). These effective medications work by inhibiting the natural breaking system our bodies have on erections.

Penile Implants

Penile implants are the most reliable and spontaneous method of achieving an erection. This outpatient procedure allows direct control of both the timing and duration of an erection.

Shockwave Therapy

Low-intensity shockwave therapy (LiSWT) for ED is a recent advancement and option for men who do not respond well to medication but do not want more invasive treatments. LiSWT works by applying targeted sound waves to the penis to stimulate growth of new blood vessels. While not yet FDA approved for ED, multiple trials have shown significant improvements in erectile function and penile blood flow.

Injection Therapy

Medications injected directly into the penis are typically more effective and work quicker than oral medications and are less invasive than surgery. However, injection therapy involves a needle prick to the penis and has a small risk of persistent erection (priapism), a medical emergency, and penile fibrosis.

Intraurethral Suppositories

Medications such as MUSE (intraurethral alprostadil) are placed into the urethra through the tip of the penis with an applicator.

Vacuum Erection Devices (VEDs)

VEDs are mechanical devices placed over the penis and, when activated, draw in blood by creating a vacuum. A constriction band is placed at the base of the penis to keep the erection and prevent blood from escaping.
